			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>When chiropractors talk about ranking #1 on Google, they usually think there&#8217;s one magic keyword that will send them endless amounts of traffic and patients. Over the years, speaking with a few thousand doctors, I can tell you that the overwhelming majority feel they only need to rank for one or two keywords, too.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re in that boat or not getting the results you want from the internet, listen-up.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The harsh reality is, in order to absolutely own, dominate, and saturate a local market to become the &#8220;go-to&#8221; and most recognized chiropractor, you MUST be everywhere a potential new patient would search online. Google is only one part of the equation but we&#8217;ll use it in this blog example.</p>

<p>Getting your chiropractic website to the top of the organic listings (left side) of Google is where you can own the lions share of the search traffic if you understand how Google ranks pages.</p>
<p>As mentioned in previous blogs, the top ranked website on Google gets over 70% of the overall clicks for any given term. If you&#8217;re not #1, you&#8217;re not in the game! Just having a first page ranking doesn&#8217;t mean squat anymore.</p>
<p>Here are 12 primary keywords that you MUST rank #1 for to monopolize the local, potential patient search traffic</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">- chiropractor (Your town)<br />
- chiropractors in (Your town)<br />
- chiropractors (Your town)<br />
- (Your town) chiropractor<br />
- (Your town) (State Abbrev.) chiropractor<br />
- (Your town) chiropractic<br />

<p>Now, in truth, this is just a starter list. Ideally, you want to rank at the top and blanket the search engines for at least two dozen keywords and related phrases. We didn&#8217;t even go laterally into conditions you might treat in your chiropractic office that internet users search for.</p>
<blockquote><p>How many of these keywords above does your chiropractic website or content rank #1 for? If you&#8217;re like most chiropractors, you might rank #1 for a couple or you don&#8217;t rank at the top for any.</p>
<p>This is far from market domination and better strategy must be employed if you want to realize exponentially more new patients monthly.</p></blockquote>
<p>Even though, there are minor variations in some of those keywords (like a one letter substitution), this makes the keyword different and you must optimize separately for it.</p>
<p>Since 2005 I&#8217;ve been teaching this same exact keyword domination strategy.</p>
<p>And, you know what? It&#8217;s worked every time for doctors that have applied my focused marketing methods. It will also work 10 years from now because it&#8217;s foundational unlike the latest and greatest short-lived tricks other chiropractic marketing &#8220;gurus&#8221; teach.</p>
<p>You must own a <span style="text-decoration: underline;">couple dozen</span> keywords if you want to pull serious windfalls of traffic without spending any money on traditional advertising. With that said, should SEO be your only strategy?&#8230; Hell no!</p>
<p>You must combine SEO, social media and other forms of internet marketing for maximum effect.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Here are eight common social media and internet marketing mistakes you need to avoid if you ever want to DRAMATICALLY increase your new patients / clients each month from the web.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">1. Thinking the amount of Facebook page &#8220;fans&#8221; you have is proportional to the amount of new clients you&#8217;ll get from social media. The truth is, it&#8217;s not. Stop falling for this &#8220;guru&#8221; marketing trick.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">2. Looking for that cure-all &#8220;quick fix&#8221; strategy that will get you all the patients / customers you need. There are dozens of strategies to combine when using web promotion.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">3. Not having an organized, time-tested plan of attack and daily task list. Without a plan, social media and the internet will be nothing more than a glorified time-suck.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">4. Not tracking (or knowing how to track) your website analytics AND how well your site is actually converting online visitors (if you&#8217;re getting any) into real patients, clients or customers.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">5. Getting suckered into the latest shiny object marketing tactic and not focusing on fundamentals that have worked for years. Social media, traffic generation, and building relationships haven&#8217;t changed as much as you think.</p>

<p>Another mistake most business owners make is that they are not getting users OFF of social media and onto an email list. Your list is possibly the most important asset to your business, yet the majority are not building one and nourishing a long-term relationship.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you&#8217;re a consistent reader of this blog and have followed me for awhile, you know I&#8217;ve been emphasizing the importance of social media optimization (SMO), especially this last 12 months. It was obvious before (and today officially declared) that social sharing impacts search results.</p>
<p>The truth is, the web has changed radically in recent times. The internet IS social media and social media IS the internet.</p>
<p>When someone says &#8220;social media doesn&#8217;t work,&#8221; they&#8217;re basically saying the internet doesn&#8217;t work. Social media is now a term that describes the new internet and how it&#8217;s evolved.</p>
<p>Google has lost substantial ground to Facebook this year and they&#8217;re fighting tooth and nail to compete with the social powerhouse. With mounting pressure, they had to evolve or face a severe decline.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Happy New Year! I woke up this morning thinking about what a phenomenal year 2011 was, reflecting on the tremendous growth that occurred. In large part, it was because of YOU, my loyal audience.</p>
<p>I&#8217;m deeply grateful for your support and trust. I wouldn&#8217;t be where I&#8217;m at today if you weren&#8217;t a valued subscriber.</p>
<p>2012 is set to absolutely dwarf last year. It&#8217;s going to be a break-out year for many of you as well. The wheat is going to be separated from the chaff, the strong from the weak, the pros from the amateurs, the strategic marketers from the half-assed.</p>
<p>The gap is going to get bigger and the competition is going to be tougher online. The rich will get richer, the poor will get poorer. <a href="http://dcincome.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Grim_Reaper-2.jpg"><img class="alignright size-full wp-image-3579" style="border: 4px solid white; margin: 4px;" title="Reaper " src="http://dcincome.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Grim_Reaper-2.jpg" alt="" width="133" height="167" /></a></p>
<p>If you&#8217;ve laid a strong foundation, followed my advice and went through my learning systems, you&#8217;ll be the one on top. You&#8217;ll saturate your market online, build insurmountable social proof, and reap the vast majority of new patients, clients, and customers.</p>
<p>A lot of chiropractors and small businesses will close their doors this year, too. It&#8217;s an unfortunate reality for those that have resisted change and disregarded past warnings.</p>
<p>The &#8220;economy&#8221; outside is NOT going to improve and those that hold-on to the victim mentality will be chewed-up and spit-out.</p>
<p>Just being on Facebook and other social media is not good enough, similar to just having a dormant website. It&#8217;s what you do in terms of strategic marketing (traffic generation and conversion) will continue to determine your success.</p>
<p>The good news is that for a select few, this will be the best year of your life.</p>
<p>You&#8217;ll experience exponential growth. With change and economic uncertainty comes great opportunity. I&#8217;ve prepared myself for the last few years as well as those in my inner circle.</p>
<p>The sense of urgency is strong and the stakes are high. What have you done to position yourself so that 2012 is the best financial year of your life?</p>

<p>One challenge, which isn’t new, is the battle for consumer attention.   If you’re looking to grow your user base, is there a best way to  cost-effectively attract valuable users?  I’m increasingly convinced the  best way is by harnessing a concept called social proof, a relatively  untapped gold mine in the age of the social web.</p>
<p>What is social proof?  Put simply, it’s the positive influence  created when someone finds out that others are doing something.  It’s  also known as informational social influence.</p>
<p>Wikipedia describes <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_proof">social proof</a> as “a psychological phenomenon where people assume the actions of  others reflect the correct behavior for a given situation… driven by the  assumption that the surrounding people possess more information about  the situation.” In other words, people are wired to learn from the  actions of others, and this can be a huge driver of consumer behavior.</p>
<p>Consider the social proof of a line of people standing behind a  velvet rope, waiting to get into a club.  The line makes most people  walking by want to find out what’s worth the wait.  The digital  equivalent of the velvet rope helped build viral growth for initially  invite-only launches like Gmail, Gilt Groupe, Spotify, and Turntable.fm&#8230;. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It never ceases to amaze me of all the newest social media gimmicks that regularly arise. Seems like every other day, there&#8217;s another guru saying you should be doing (insert short-term trick).</p>
<p>What follows is usually the less savvy chiropractor jumps aboard this latest tactic looking for the one magic bullet.</p>
<p>Kind of funny isn&#8217;t it?</p>
<p>Chiropractors regularly speak-out against the medical &#8220;quick fix&#8221; pill but when it comes to their marketing, many times they get hooked into the one idea or tactic they think will cure their new patient worries forever.</p>
<p>Social media shiny object syndrome plagues many chiropractic practices.</p>
<p>The fact is, this online medium of marketing is VERY effective at pulling consistent streams of new patients if you do it correctly and operate with a foundational strategy.</p>
<blockquote><p>Don&#8217;t get hyped-up on something new that makes your mouth water, then confuse it with marketing strategies that have a track record or producing patients and increased income.</p>
<p>&#8220;New&#8221; does not necessarily equal proven.</p></blockquote>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It doesn&#8217;t matter how great your business is. Sooner or later, you&#8217;re bound to get a negative review by a patient or customer. It&#8217;s practically inevitable. The question is, what&#8217;s the right way to handle the situation when you get one.</p>
<p>And&#8230; can you actually remove a negative review once it&#8217;s been posted on your Google Places business page? This is, by far, one of the MOST common topics I&#8217;m asked about by chiropractors, entrepreneurs and other business owners.<a href="http://dcincome.com/blog/ "><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-3494" style="border: 3px solid white; margin: 3px;" title="google places for chiropractors" src="http://dcincome.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/google-places-300x231.jpg" alt="" width="161" height="123" /></a></p>
<p style="text-align: left;">The answer is no, you cannot delete reviews. See Google&#8217;s opinion on the matter <a href="http://www.google.com/support/places/bin/answer.py?hl=en&amp;answer=187622">at </a><a href="http://www.google.com/support/places/bin/answer.py?hl=en&amp;answer=187622">this link</a>.</p>
<p>With that being said, there are 3 important things you can do today so that your credibility and trust factor doesn&#8217;t get tarnished. Here they are:</p>
<p>1) The first thing to do is to get MORE reviews and feedback from your current customers.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">Ideally, you want to drown the negative out by having a <span style="text-decoration: underline;">disproportionate</span> amount of positive reviews. In essence, if you have 50 positive reviews and one negative, that looks normal.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">As mentioned before, even the best companies will have negative reviews. You cannot please everyone all of the time. I&#8217;m sure if you were to look on Amazon right now at your favorite book, you&#8217;d probably see it has some negative reviews.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The point is, it happens but realize that it doesn&#8217;t mean your online reputation is over.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">All my <em><a href="http://dcincome.com/go">Social Media Elite</a></em> members have access to a killer Google Places email script sequence that gets you a SURGE of positive reviews in a short time. <p>2) Respond to the negative review.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">If you verified your Google Places listing, you&#8217;ll be able to respond to the negative review. This is huge. The goal here is not to start a war or to do a counter-attack. You want to be the bigger person and take the high road.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">The last thing you want to do is appear immature and combative. Always maintain professionalism and honesty. You may want to take the approach of, “We&#8217;re sorry you feel like this and we&#8217;re committed to making it better.”</p>
<p>3) If you feel this wasn&#8217;t a legit review (maybe done by a jealous competitor), click the the &#8220;Flag as  Inappropriate&#8221; link below the negative feedback.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">You may want to urge friends to click that same link while logged in to  their Google accounts as well. Don&#8217;t expect anything to happen overnight, as Google is ridiculously slow to  process these requests.</p>
<p style="padding-left: 30px;">However, when they take a look, and if they note a regular pattern  from a single IP address, this could be good for you.</p>
<p>Look, I know first-hand how horrible it feels to get a negative review online. It&#8217;s like getting sucker-punched in the stomach, especially when you pour your heart and soul into your work.</p>
<p>The most important thing is to take a step back, then respond accordingly while implementing the tips above. Never just emotionally react in the heat of the moment.</p>

Even with the social media boom, it&#8217;s important not to forget about how important scaling the great wall of Google can be.</p>
<p>As you already know, the top listing on Google gets over 70% of ALL clicks for any given keyword or phrase. If your chiropractic website is not at #1, you&#8217;re not even in the game.</p>
<p>I have what I call the 1:1 rule which basically says that people are lazy and will not navigate past 1 click or 1 second to find their solution online. <a href="http://dcincome.com/blog/local-search-marketing-warning/">Here&#8217;s a great video</a> and demonstration I did about it on an earlier blog post.<a href="http://dcincome.com/blog/"><img class="alignright size-medium wp-image-3458" title="seo for chiropractors" src="http://dcincome.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/seo-300x152.jpg" alt="" width="251" height="127" /></a></p>
<p>So, how do you grab the #1 slot on Google?</p>
<p>The answer may be simpler than you think. First, you must make sure your chiropractic website is optimized in terms of on-page SEO.</p>
<p>After that, you need to start an aggressive campaign of anchor text link-building to your main web property. This falls in the realm of what&#8217;s termed off-page SEO.</p>
<p>Factors that influence on-page SEO are things like the website meta-title, meta keyword tags, meta-description, and relevant site content. It&#8217;s important to note that you, as a chiropractor, should find a webmaster that can do this work for you. You should NOT spend your time, energy, and focus on technical stuff like this.</p>
<p>Find an expert to get things done fast. You&#8217;re savvy enough to know that time is money.</p>
<p>Once you have everything on-page optimized and containing the keywords you&#8217;re looking to rank at the top of Google for, you can now advance and work on off-page SEO. By far, this is THE most critical aspect that determines how well your chiropractic website ranks online.</p>
<p>To really maximize your off-page SEO to the fullest extent, you have to build incoming links from blogs, articles, forums, press releases, videos, and other valuable web real estate. These should be pointed back to your chiropractic website address.</p>
<p>You don&#8217;t just want any old links, though. You need anchor text backlinks. These are simple keywords that are clickable, which link to your site.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s an example &#8212;&gt; <a title="chiropractic marketing" href="http://dcincome.com">chiropractic marketing</a></p>
<p>Lastly, it&#8217;s essential that you&#8217;re sharing your website and fresh content on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Digg, etc. The more that you share your content, in conjunction with others sharing it on social media (ie&#8230; re-tweets and Facebook shares), the higher you will appear on Google.</p>
<p>This isn&#8217;t a theory either. Social sharing is now having a dramatic impact on rankings and SEO.</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s another key tip.</p>
<p>When you do get Twitter re-tweets, Diggs or Facebook shares / likes, ideally you want them from authority profiles and / or companies. Google favors this and weighs the individual influence of each entity. Most chiropractors are unaware of this fact.</p>
<p>So, not all social media sharing is equal. Google understands certain brands and people carry more authority and it rewards those that are recommended by them.</p>
<p>As you know, the web is evolving very fast.</p>
