			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I just wanted to show share with you a couple recent campaigns I came across in regards to SMS marketing, otherwise known as text message marketing. I was in the mall when I snapped these photos with my iPhone</p>
<p>Companies are aggressively and cost-effectively using this SMS marketing to generate substantially more leads, traffic, and new customers.</p>
<p>If you&#8217;re smart, you&#8217;ll observe what big corporations like this are doing and clone it for your current business. These guys spend hundreds of thousands of dollars testing what works and what doesn&#8217;t.</p>

<blockquote><p>Text marketing is one of the MOST cost-effective and profitable forms of marketing on the planet right now. Be cool to your list and you&#8217;ll find-out just how fun and responsive it can be.</p></blockquote>
<p>Here are a few examples of text marketing campaigns:</p>
<p><em>Armani Exchange</em> (A|X) created an offer awhile back. They used text message marketing to allow customers to enter a text-to-win promotion for an $1,000 shopping spree.</p>
<p>Instructions on how to participate were found on the retailer’s shopping bags. To enter, all the customer had to do is text the keyword AX to short code 276264 (ARMANI) for a chance to win. The catch was that you also agreed to receive a couple SMS marketing messages monthly featuring sales, etc.</p>
<p>Not too shabby&#8230;</p>
<p><em>American Idol </em>is another great example. In this case, it deals with mobile voting. Over 78 million people regularly text so they can cast a vote for who they think should win. <p>Professional football teams are using SMS to interact with fans during the game. They ask fans for there favorite player and display the results in real-time. As an added incentive, participants also have the opportunity to win tickets.</p>
<p>Lastly, here&#8217;s an example of what <em>Dunkin&#8217; Donuts</em> did to increase local sales. They wanted to introduce its hot lattes to young adults and test SMS marketing in a metropolitan area.</p>
<p>The October campaign delivered a mobile coupon for a $0.99 small hot latte to 7,500 targeted permission based opt-ins. This was supported by local radio DJ&#8217;s getting out the message, as well as mobile banner ads on local mobile websites.</p>
<p>Here were the results. The SMS messaging and targeted radio promotions increased in-store traffic by 21% (compare this to a 3 percent redemption rate that’s typically considered very good). 35% of participants later surveyed said they were more likely to buy <em>Dunkin’ Donuts</em> lattes and coffee.</p>
<p>Other findings: 17% of participants forwarded or showed the message to a friend. Promoting the coupon’s viral (“shareable”) nature helped generate more traffic and coupon redemption.</p>
<blockquote><p>The bottom line is with these above text marketing campaigns, the above companies have built highly responsive consumer lists, are guaranteed their future sales / promotions get a look, and can expect 10-30% response rates!</p>

Based on a tremendous amount of market research and speaking with many marketing industry leaders, it&#8217;s become clear what the next big thing is. I firmly believe it&#8217;s SMS mobile marketing.</p>
<p><strong>Here&#8217;s a Quick Re-Cap of Some Important Points</strong></p>

Also, it&#8217;s the only form of communication that many individuals are fastened to 24 hours / day. This perfectly explains why, in an era where email in-boxes fill with hundreds of never-opened messages from direct marketers, 97 % of all SMS mobile marketing messages are eventually opened, according to the latest cell-company research! Based on a tremendous amount of market research and speaking with many marketing industry leaders, it&#8217;s become clear what the next big thing is. I firmly believe it&#8217;s SMS mobile marketing. Let me explain further&#8230;</p>
<blockquote><p>Mobile marketing, according to <em>Wikipedia</em>, is a set of practices that enables organizations to communicate and engage with their audience in an interactive and relevant manner through any mobile device or network.</p></blockquote>

Roughly 3.5 <span style="text-decoration: underline;">billion</span> text messages are sent / received daily! To put it in perspective, that trumps the number of cellphone calls made and is a threefold leap from 2007. On a related note, the biggest increase occurred in people 30 years and older!</p>
<p>For the time being, SMS is relatively untapped, uncluttered and a spam-free mobile marketing medium.</p>
<p>Also, it&#8217;s the only form of communication that many individuals are fastened to 24 hours / day. This perfectly explains why, in an era where email in-boxes fill with hundreds of never-opened messages from direct marketers, 97 % of all SMS mobile marketing messages are eventually opened, according to the latest cell-company research! In fact, 83% of those are opened within the first hour.</p>
