It’s been said that there are only two ways to change an existing paradigm. One is through consistent and repeated repetition. The other is through a very strong and sudden emotional impact or event. If you’re not familiar with what paradigms are, they are simply pre-programmed habits, attitudes, values, and beliefs. Many times they were unsolicited “gifts” by our parents, close friends, and the mainstream media (television / radio) as we grew up and began experiencing life.

What I find is that many business professionals tell me they want to change their financial results in life, have more flexibility / freedom, or become a chiropractic social media rockstar, but most never fully follow through and make it happen. Why is that? The answer is because of the underlying social conditioning that few take the time to investigate as to WHY they do what they do. Understanding the “why” is the key to your success and being able to break-though certain barriers that arise. Uncovering this, along with what I share below, is what I believe to be the secret to attracting more prosperity, online income, and fulfillment in life.

There’s a small catch, though. It’s a little thing called the “comfort zone” that makes many think they’re safe and that they’re actually on solid ground. Most people, maybe yourself included, look forward to the day-to-day routine and it truthfully it provides a false sense of security. It doesn’t take Magnum PI (or Higgins and TC for that matter) to understand that for many, they would rather be miserable, unfulfilled and unhappy in their comfort zone than to venture into the scary unknown.

Why is this? It’s because average majority knows what to expect in their sheltered, pseudo-sanctuary which produces predictable “safe” outcomes. This is a big reason why most have the irrational behavior of going to a job they dislike for 40 hours per week, sitting in traffic that they absolutely loathe for another hour or two per day, and coming home complaining about how helpless they are, wishing they could have a better life financially, emotionally, etc… Talk about insanity! There’s a really good quote by an anonymous author that states:

Growth means change and change involves risk, stepping from the known to the unknown.

You must first break-through the “terror barrier,” as Bob Proctor calls it. You have the choice right now, bondage or total freedom. One the other side of the terror barrier is emotional freedom that can propel you quickly to what you want and deserve most out of life. I’m a perfect example of what can happen when you remove limiting beliefs, habits, and attitudes and strip away excuses. I was forced to be brutally honest with myself and determined I didn’t like the results, financial or otherwise, that I was getting in my life. I stopped being a victim.

Here are 9 questions I recommend asking (and answering in detail) yourself if you want to rapidly change your results and have a better, more fulfilling life:

Why do I think the thoughts I think about (insert topic)?

Are these thoughts, feelings, and beliefs really my own or are they my parents, grandparents, mass mentality, etc..?

Why do I feel the way I do about (insert subject)?

Why have I been acting in this certain way?

Why am I not taking the necessary action to live the life of my dreams?

How are my thoughts, attitudes and beliefs limiting limiting the results I’m getting or NOT getting?

Am I surrounding myself with people and other sensory stimuli that are going to facilitate personal and financial growth?

How can I make (insert $$ here) per Month?

Do I have a personal Mentor I can Consult with that’s where I want to be?

I invite you watch my personal skydiving video below. This was one of the crucial moments in my life where I made the decision to push myself out of my comfort zone and not let fear of the unknown get the best of me. This was a symbolic turning point in my life in more ways than one. This experience taught me to be present in the moment and live the life you want daily, as you’re not guaranteed tomorrow.

The last thing I was thinking about when the airplane door opened was “whether or not Blue Cross was going to pay outstanding insurance claims for my chiropractic services.” I was fully alive in what was unfolding and it was F#%&$ing AMAZING! The free fall lasted about 70 seconds but time seemed to literally stop. Knowing the path and walking the path are two different things and this was just one event in series of life altering and transformational shifts in mindset I chose to go through to live my dream.

I strongly believe the income you generate is proportional to the degree that you grow, develop and improve yourself each day. And no, that doesn’t mean you have to skydive, it means you need to take risks! I’m reminded of another quote by Zig Ziglar that went along these lines, “If you help others get what they want, they’ll help you get what you want.” I really took this to heart and where it’s taken me has been incredible. I found my passion and purpose helping other doctors with chiropractic social media marketing showing them how to create massive brand equity and niche market domination.

How are you helping others get what they want? Also, what are you going to do and commit to today to change your personal, business, and financial results in life? Let me know by leaving a comment below. Continued success

About a week ago as I was surfing around on Twitter and doing some reverse engineering, I ran across at least three accounts that were marketing chiropractic services to others locally. The thought came to my head… “Here’s what NOT to do when marketing chiropractic with social media.”

So, what was the problem? Well, I noticed that their chiropractic marketing attempts were blatant spam promotions! In conjunction, there was no human-side or personal interaction. What these chiropractors didn’t understand is that they were actually doing more harm than good, in regards to their potential audience. Here’s why….

These doctors were giving the exact same automated reply to everyone on their friends list with certain types of pain-based conditions. When you begin to give automated replies in your regular posts, everyone who comes to that page is seeing 10-20 posts that are exactly the same. This is not a good thing to do in your chiropractic marketing endeavors for a few reasons.

First, a potential Twitter user in your local area that may come across your profile will see you are giving “canned” replies to everyone. Do you think they will want to be your friend if you aren’t showing a personal side? What would you think if someone was marketing chiropractic this way? The purpose of social media is to, well, be social. I don’t think having a profile like that sets the stage for quality social interaction.

Remember that first impressions carry a great deal of weight in a potential new patients mind so you want to get off on the right foot from the get-go. Chiropractic marketing on all social media outlets has to be very indirect. You have to give folks the idea that you actually care what they have to say, as they are real people. Scripting and automation totally has a place, but in the example I just mentioned, it will end-up backfiring as you cannot build relationships this way.

Another reason that marketing chiropractic in this fashion could be a potential disaster is that you risk getting kicked off social networks. Sites like Twitter, Facebook, Friendfeed, and LinkedIn can always tell if you’re trying to game the system. Imagine having a group of friends or followers on one of these sites and you get deleted. Ouch! What will that message say to them when try and access your profile but they get an ugly message from the network.

There is a time and place for chiropractic social media marketing online. It just has to be way more subtle that what I’ve been discussing here. Look, we all want new patients knocking our doors down, but it’s important to remember that you must create value to build trust first. Keeping this in mind when thinking of marketing chiropractic online will save you from looking like a spammer.

If you’re looking for New Patients, there are many types of chiropractic marketing you can use to flood your office accordingly. Quite possibly the most important method in today’s time is chiropractic internet marketing. Unquestionably, the worldwide web is one of the most happening “social” places on the planet and many DC practices and other businesses are using this medium to make a fortune.

If you’re looking to come-out on top of this economic recession, I highly recommend integrating a strong online presence through the use of social media and Web 2.0. There are a multitude of social networking and social media sites that are at your fingertips online. With that in mind, you can definitely make use of them to ramp-up the amount of chiropractic new patients coming into your office.

One of the most explosive and viral social media websites that you’ll want to have an immediate presence on is Twitter. This micro-blogging platform might have come in to existence in 2006, but it’s incredibly popular among individuals from all over the globe right now. Savvy businessmen and entrepreneurs are using Twitter to market and brand the hell out of themselves. Realizing this, it’s time for more chiropractors to get in the game and reap the financial rewards and massive exposure!

For those wanting to specifically target potential new patients from the local community, there is no better setting in the virtual world to do so than on Twitter if you have a proven blueprint. I predict Twitter will be one of the most surfed and successful places for social media marketing for chiropractors for years to come! The cool things is, there are specific tools that allow local targeting so you can follow and interact with the people you want. Chiropractic internet marketing using this tactic is super effective because the internet is used by almost everyone it seems. Keeping this in mind, you have a very good opportunity to azquire new patients from the unparalleled branding that can be done on Twitter.

Electing to advertise through offline media in 2009 probably won’t give you the desired result that you’re in search of. Now, when you make the decision to market your chiropractic practice via the internet, you’ll have the capability to go after your specific audience easily, as individuals who are interested in your services will view your profile.

In all honesty, it’s a good idea to devote a few minutes per day on Twitter posting snip-its on a (AKA Tweets) somewhat regular basis. The major reason being, you’ll be able to attract new followers and induce your existing follower-base to come back to your profile and check-out the Tweets you’ve shared. Chiropractic marketing through this method is not only relatively easy but entertaining, too!

Social media marketing for chiropractors that opt to use Twitter will continue to grow rapidly for a long time. A big reason is because of branding and networking with potential New Patients you wouldn’t normally be able to access. When updating your page through micro-blogging, have it so that the posts you tweet are interesting and related to the chiropractic, health, and wellness. Personally, I would get a custom background like what I have, too. Looking boring or like a chump from the get-go won’t appeal to very many folks.

In your interaction, provide helpful links to your blog or site so that curious people can get ahold of you and benefit from your specialized knowledge. In conjunction, don’t be scared to interact with possible New Patients on Twitter. When you take the initiative, it can compel them to opt-in to your website and give them an incentive to visit your office. Encourage your followers to ask you any questions that may come to mind on chiropractic or any other related topic.

It’s not too hard to construct a solid reputation for yourself on Twitter if you know exactly what needs to be done and have a proven formula. Most forms of online marketing can be effective and useful and chiropractic marketing on this social website is one great way to sky-rocket traffic to your existing website. You really just need to have an innovative outlook so you can come up with interesting posts to captivate your crowd.
