If you’re a chiropractor attempting to make the transition to marketing your office on the internet, you must initially be familiar with some basic concepts of chiropractic marketing online. Not having a strong understanding of how to position yourself the correct way can cost you tremendously in the long-run. Here are some mistakes you’ll want to avoid…
Mistake #1 – Not having a welcome video that automatically plays on your chiropractic website. People like to be dazzled in the web 2.0 era. A static and boring website isn’t going to cut-it nowadays and will hinder your chiropractic internet marketing efforts. There is no better way to stimulate the viewer than with a video that immediately captures their eyes and ears.
Mistake #2 – Not having a place where a potential new patient can “opt-in” to the website for more information. Like new patients are the life-blood of your practice, opt-ins are the life-blood of your chiropractic internet marketing efforts. The fact is, most people won’t come see you after visiting your site the initial time. You need to build trust, give away good information, and follow-up with them regularly
Mistake #3 – Not having patient video testimonials. Let’s not forget just how powerful social proof actually is. Here’s an example. What’s one of the first things you do when you search for a new book on Amazon to purchase? You look at the reviews of folks that have already read it, as to not waste your money on something sub-par. People do the same thing when they search out a chiropractor.
Mistake #4 – Trying to “hard sell” someone on why they should come to see you. People don’t like to be sold to. Be genuine and educate them through valuable information on your website and in your email follow-ups after they opt-in. This is value-based chiropractic internet marketing.
Mistake #5 – Not telling your potential new patients EXACTLY what to do next. This applies to most online content that you create online. If you have your video that automatically plays on your site, after you’ve informed them a bit, tell them what you want them to do next. This is so simple, yet so powerful and will increase your conversions tenfold. If you have an opt-in box, give them an incentive to opt-in and tell them to with your voice. Maybe you want them to call your number. NEVER be vague!
Hopefully, you take these tips to heart and implement them as I’m certain you will see an increase in response and new patients that walk through your doors from the internet. Always be transparent in your message to your audience while being consistent in your chiropractic marketing efforts.

Thanks for the list Doc. I think too many chiropractors fall for mistake #4. Hard selling really affected our industry during the Mercedes 80’s right up until the recent recession.
Great stuff Doc. Trying to figure out if a chiromatrix site will allow a video that will load automatically. Thanks.
Thank you for taking the time to write those tips..great tip with having a follow up system! It is essential so I hope people are reading that advice. Thanks.
[...] has chiropractic marketing changed in the past 20 years? In every way imaginable, yet not at all. Sounds like a contradiction [...]
Hi, thank you for the tips. I´m in the process of updating our website and have found your comments useful. My concern is with the data protection legalities, will this affect having video testimonials or written testimonials? Thank you once again. best wishes Sharon
I see #5 as the one mistake that many chiropractors, including myself, forget to do. Telling them what to do next is a huge step, because they may not know how to follow through or just won’t without prompting.
I see the same thing in practice, when I forgot to tell the patient when to follow up after their adjustment. We can’t assume the patient knows to come in next tomorrow or next week.
