  3. Great info Matthew, thanks. I just started using Pinterest recently and just from the few pins I have up from my website, I’ve already generated traffic to my website. I know I’m probably not using it to it’s full potential yet so I look forward to this series of videos. I’ll be sure to follow you as well.

  4. Thanks for the heads up on Pinterest! This looks like it could be a great source of exposure in the future. Can you give an estimate to the percentage of time we should devote to developing this versus other social media avenues (Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, etc)? In other words, how much of the allowable piece of our marketing time we should allocate to Pinterest?

    Great question, Dr. Jim. Pinterest is to the point that you should be “pinning” every day. Facebook and YouTube are the biggest (and most visited) so you should be focusing the bulk of the time engaging and doing videos. Spend 10 minutes / day on Pinterest getting to know how it works and posting images. In the powerful video training coming-up for Social Media Elite members, I’m going to go in-depth.

    Hi Dr Loop – i have been enjoying your new pinterest training module & have been going gangbusters on pinterest – its a great addition to the rest of your program – i have a question that i dont think you have covered in the trainings that i have looked at as yet > I get what seems like a lot of requests (9 to date) asking me to join various community boards – so far i have rejected them all because > 1. the community boards have been totally unrelated to the subject matter of my account (my account > health care, while the community boards have been on themes such as cars, usa restaurants, farmers markets, top pinners etc) … and 2. i am not certain what i do & how i should interact once i accept a community board request … ie do i pin all my new pins there … or just a few representative pins of what my account is about? … 3. how does belonging to a community board really help my account? … i would really appreciate it if you could elaborate those points a little more or direct me to some resources that might help me find out more about them … thank you 🙂

    Hey Dr. Rod. Great question. It really depends who’s contributing to the community boards. If it’s mostly people from your local area, it might be a great idea. So, you’d have to check some of the profiles of the contributors to make sure. When you accept an invite, you’d start by just finding images and liking or commenting on them so others get to know you. If you post regularly on these boards, it could definitely send a windfall of traffic your way.
