The BEST Way To Get Traffic To Your Chiropractic Blog

There are dozens and dozens of ways to drive traffic to your chiropractic blog. You have everything from social media, search engine optimization (SEO), PPC marketing, mobile, etc… I can honestly say that I’ve tried all of them with varying degrees of success.

Of the many traffic generation mediums available, one method stands out by a long-shot above all others. The beautiful thing about this traffic source is that you have total control and can use to create a flood of traffic to anything you choose.

The results can be incredible. Have a glance at the following analytics chart for one of my sites.

The graph above shows traffic to one of my sites. You’ll notice the huge spike on December 9th. This was strategically planned and happened because I activated the traffic source. So, here’s the money question, what did I use to initiate a surge of traffic 3x higher than normal?

The answer is my email list!

To create a spike in my website traffic, the only thing I did was login to my Aweber account and send out an email about a new blog post. Within a few short hours, almost 900 readers flooded the blog to check it out.

Many chiropractors and bloggers that I speak with think that an email list is only used to promote affiliate offers or send general newsletters.

However, a mailing list is the BEST way to push a boatload of traffic to your website or blog. Usually, the response is better than any other medium because your subscribers know, like, and trust you.

Many times, the bigger the list, the bigger the traffic spike. You can see some great traffic from small lists, though. It’s not always about the size, as you can easily build your list up over time.

Besides pushing a large amount of traffic to my sites, my lists are the reason my online business generates the phenomenal income it does. You list is the one thing that Google cannot even take away from you. Ask any successful marketer and they’ll tell you that their list is the MOST important asset you have in internet marketing.

So, why is it that the majority of chiropractors and bloggers don’t have one? Regardless of your excuse, I’m letting you know that not having a list is a VERY BIG AND COSTLY mistake.

I strongly recommend you start building your list from day one.

Hands down, my biggest mistake when I got into internet marketing was not building a list for any of my sites from the get-go. I was wet behind the years, very naive.

Learn from my mistake! If I would’ve started my email lists from day one, my monthly income would probably be double what it is now.

Don’t put it off any longer. If you have blog or a regular chiropractic website and don’t have a mailing list, begin one immediately! If Google decides to mess with your site, you’re screwed without your core base you can keep in contact with.

Be careful of who you select for your email marketing and autoresponder system, though.

Selecting the right email marketing service is one of the MOST important activities you’ll ever do for your online marketing. Why, you may ask?

It’s because if you try to switch email hosting services later on, there’s a good chance you’ll lose 75% of your subscribers, as the new provider will require the subscribers you’re transferring to optin again!

It doesn’t matter how good of relationship you have with your list, if you make this mistake you’re toast. You’re guaranteed to lose the bulk of the email subscribers that you’ve organically built.

Don’t try to save a buck and get tricked into using free email software.

This is not an area where you want to cut costs. Inexperienced chiropractors and internet marketers make this mistake ALL OF THE TIME. They try to save money by hosting their email list with some run-of-the-mill free software, hoping to upgrade to Aweber later-on after they generate some income.

Point blank… this is very foolish!

Sure, you can build an email list on the free software but the moment you attempt to import the list to a top-notch service like Aweber, you’re going to lose 75% of your subscribers and more than likely they won’t come back.

The movers and shakers in the internet marketing world treat their website and blog like a real business. All businesses have necessary expenses, too. Yes, hosting your email subscriber list falls into that category.

If you’re doing things correctly, it’s impossible not to make the $20 / month it costs to use Aweber.

Is your chiropractic website or blog helping you build an email list? If not, TODAY would be the best time to start. Every day you stubbornly hold-out costs you traffic, new patients, and income.

Grab your trial of Aweber for just $1

My recommended email marketing solution and list host is Aweber. You can grab a dollar trial to test it out as well. It’s a fully functional members account including unlimited email campaigns and follow-ups. You’ll get to see for yourself just how powerful it can be for your site or chiropractic blog. There’s also no risk since they offer a 30 day money back guarantee.

  1. Great content Matt. I have tested when I have my blog sent out automatically to my email list and it definitely increases the traffic. I believe there is an widget on wordpress that will automatically send out the blog post to your email list when you post that new blog.

I’ve noticed this as well, Matt. Sending a “heads-up” email about a recent blog post drives more click-through traffic and also allows you to stay top-of-mind in the minds of your list. I also use my blog posts as an “excuse” to email my list sometimes and then throw in a P.S. with another message or announcement that I want to convey to my list. Thanks for the info!

  3. I agree! I’ve been successfully using Aweber to build a large list in my marketing of my book for DCs – Reclaim the Joy of Practice: An Advanced Guide for Advancing Doctors. I offer several free practice boosting reports on my website.

  4. Thanks Matt! I love using Aweber and it can really drive traffic. It can take awhile to build up an email list, but it is worth it!

Your email list is the life-blood of your online marketing efforts. It’s really what separates those that get a trickle-in of new business and sales versus those that get a consistent avalanche.

You can literally send an email and get people in your office or get them to buy what they looking for. As your list grows and when you build strong rapport, the amount of business and income growth you experience is crazy!

A straight and purposive content. Only few sites can really manage to create interesting post such as yours. Glad I had the chance to visit your site. Keep writing.

  8. Dear Matt,
Where can I get email letter training on how to best send out to my present and past patients?

Also, do you think it is better to have separate site for say Natural Treatment for Headache, Pregnant women’s issues, etc.

    Thanks,
PS since using some of your ideas, I have had an increase of OBGYs sending me pre- and post-partum women here in Jerusalem, Isrl

Hey Isaac… Instead of having multiple websites for those conditions, you may consider having one website with multiple landing pages and content. That’s a better option. That’s great you’ve noticed an increase in referrals! I actually use Aweber for email newsletters. They do offer tips and training and are the top auto-responder / email marketing system in the industry. I believe they still have a dollar trial at myproresponse.com as well 🙂
