Why You Should “Buy” Backlinks

Contrary to popular belief, this is why you should definitely “buy” backlinks on a regular basis. First, I need to clear-up what I mean when I say buy backlinks, though. It’s probably not what you think.
Think of backlinks as like votes on the search engines. The more quality “anchor text” backlinks you have, the higher you’ll rank on Google for any given keyword phrase.
For example, if you want to rank #1 on Google for Atlanta chiropractor, you need more quality backlinks than the competition ranked above you. Yes, there are other factors but by far, backlinks are the most important ranking criteria.

It’s not so much the quantity as it is the quality of the links. Not all are created equal.
So, knowing this, there are a few different ways you can acquire backlinks. Some of the more popular places to get them are from article directories, blogs, online forums, press release news sites, and software.
You can spend the time each day building links or you can have someone else do it if you know what / how it should be done to maximize your SEO and Google rankings.
This brings me to the point of why you SHOULD “buy” backlinks.
In this context I mean you should pay someone to manually build your anchor text links for you, simple. Either hire an employee by the hour or outsource on a per project basis.
What I never recommend doing is using an automated software program to spray a flood of links everywhere. This is not good and you’ll get your website heavily penalized sooner or later by Google.
You should also NEVER pay for high page rank (PR) backlinks. That’s basically where you pay a webmaster monthly to put your anchor text link on their high PR site. It’s against Google’s terms of service and will hurt your site once discovered.
Every savvy internet marketer knows and understands that link-building is an ongoing process because there’s so much competition and dozens of keywords one must blanket.
However, that being said, link-building is a task that’s very repetitive and should be delegated. It takes way too much time, energy, and effort to regularly build links AND your time is way too valuable to spend hours doing it.
Within the last few years, my experience has found that forums are some of the best places to acquire links from.

It’s because they’re online interactive communities which Google loves and weighs heavily. Their links carry a lot of juice.

Good deal Matt. We always remind our clients of what happened to JC Penny when they went against Google policy and bought backlinks that were at best questionable.

Yes, JC Penney did was stupid and now they’re paying a heavy price. The point is, when you hire an employee, you are indirectly “buying” links.
For many, they think they have to build the links themselves or Google will unleash its wrath. It’s a task that’s easily delegated 😉
Matt: I like the idea but a few questions for you. 1) Do you use forums which are of a minimum page rank? 2) do you allow the client to see/follow the links once posted, 3) will you guarantee bad neighborhood links?

Hey Dr Halliday… Yes, each client gets a report of the links when completed to see. We don’t use “bad” neighborhood links or anything that is in question.
All of our forums we select are usually PR 2 and above.
In our small St George UT market, there is one guy who is always at #1, he has about 3000 backlinks. I’m sure they were purchased. The #2 guy has about 1700. I asked him and he did every last one by hand. Each night he is on the net, making a post somewhere. That is dedication.

Are the forums you are posting to chiropractic or health related. I noticed all of my backlinks are natural and associated with health care or chiro sites, but my competitors have more that are junk backlinks, but they seem to work for them. They have pizza website backlinks 10 states away from their location. Does it matter?
Hi Ian… Yes, this system still benefits chiropractors greatly. My team builds high-quality links from authority based properties online. Most that are affected by Google changes are the people that try to take advantage of the system. We don’t use short-term links. Forums are great because they’re community centered. Some are health related some aren’t. Doesn’t matter too much, though. It’s all about the quality of the link being built.
I like the concept..i always say we are “buying” clients backlinks when we are paying our employees to add relevant articles or press releases or blog posts…good piece..

Although, the mass building of back-links through dubious methods has decreased somewhat since Google lifted the bar, there are still a few sites out there “gaming the system.
I see the benefits of what you put forth, “delegating certain tasks” like link building, etc..
Though again, even this can be misused, and soon enough more rules and limits will be enforced, once Google catches wind of this…..
Prior to the most recent Google Panda and Penguin updates and refreshes, mass link building along with many methods of gaming the system (search engines, etc) were quite common….. and many sites were openly promoting how to do this(or promoting it along with programs that achieve this end)…..usually, regarding article spinning and submitting software, auto comment submitting, etc,etc…
Post Panda and Penguin(latest updates and refreshes) some of those sites(that I have visited) speak of the huge hit their site has had in the search results, and how they are now having to take stock and recoup their loses….
Maybe 5 or 10 years ago people could have done any form of mass link building and mass traffic(visitor building—traffic swarm, etc,etc) and at that time it may not have been considered gaming the system….
There are still sites using dodgy methods and taking it to the max, and it stands out like a sore thumb in a many of those instances….

Very informative because i was thinking of buying links from ebay! We ar up every night posting and have alot of backlinks but i need some high pr links. Any advise?

Is there an easy method to determining which of all the outlets you recommend have no-follow or follow links? Is that something that plays a factor in which sites you use?
