One of the most common questions I’m asked by other professionals wanting to jump into the mobile app game is, “How much does it cost to make an iPhone application?” Quite honestly, it will vary depending on what type of app you decide to have built and the quality you select.<\/p>\n

I’ve personally seen apps that have been built for under $500 and I know others that have spent in upwards of $15,000. In reality, you can spend as much or as little as you want.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I will tell you that gaming apps like what my team and I have created are typically the most expensive because they have so many different aspects to them.<\/p>\n

One of my apps (the one that we just submitted to iTunes for approval two days ago) cost a little over $3,000.<\/p>\n

My other gaming app that’s almost finished getting developed cost roughly $4,700.<\/p>\n

So, what should you expect to pay for your first iPhone application?<\/p>\n

If you want to get something built that’s of good quality, expect to pay a few thousand dollars (at least) if you’re entering into mobile gaming. Even if you’re not going into that field, I’d still recommend allocating a budget of around $3,000.<\/p>\n

Initially, communicate your grand app idea to the developer with all the well-thought-out details. In the event that he \/ she comes back with a project estimate that’s over your budget, you can always remove some features and save them for an updated edition.<\/p>\n

By the way, that estimate above is also based on finding an app developer overseas.<\/p>\n

Should you hire someone in the US or Canada, you might as well triple that budget number I just gave. In my previous How to Easily Make an iPhone App<\/em><\/a> teleclass, I show you how to cost-effectively find a quality programmer without breaking the bank.<\/p>\n

Listen-in to that call if you have not done so. It will save you A LOT of “hard knocks.”<\/p>\n

You must think of this initial output as an investment in the future.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

My recommendation is to make an app that you would actually use. Sounds simple, right? However, you’d be surprised at how many people launch crappy applications just for the sake of having something in iTunes.<\/p>\n

Don’t do that! You won’t make money that way.<\/p>\n

The truth is ,we’re entering the “post PC” era. Apple is now the MOST VALUABLE company in the world and they built their entire company on mobile.<\/p>\n

Mobile internet will be 10x the size of the desktop internet. That’s not some fanciful prediction either. It doesn’t take a genius to observe that tablets like the iPad are quickly replacing laptops and home computers.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This post pc era and new internet are all about apps. I’ve heard it said before, “find out where the money is flowing then put yourself and your business in front of it!”<\/p>\n

In case you were unaware, Apple recently celebrated 25 BILLION app downloads.<\/p>\n

In the next 2-3 years, they expect that download number to multiply 10 times over!! The numbers are just staggering and the opportunity for YOU right now is unparalleled.<\/p>\n

The question you have to ask yourself is this. Are you positioned to stake your claim on the app gold-rush and financially capitalize in a MASSIVE boom taking place?<\/p>\n
