Casey Heynis: The Boy that Body Slammed his Bully

I still remember the first time I watched the original viral clip where Casey Heynis became a hero to millions around the world. In case you missed it, you’ll find parts of it in the inspirational video I posted below. Casey was the kid that finally got the courage to stand-up to his bully.

Not only didn’t he stand-up to the punk that was harassing him, Casey put the smack-down in the form of a vicious frontal suplex that would’ve made even Hulk Hogan proud! It was almost as if he claimed a unanimous victory for anyone that’s ever been bullied.

This remarkable tale demonstrates just how powerful a story can be at touching people, hence gaining viral exposure. Yes, the YouTube video spread fast. However, it REALLY hit the major news networks once the back-story came to life as you’re about to see.

This story resonates on so many levels but the fact is, Casey finally decided “enough is enough.” Here’s someone that went from being very lonely, contemplating suicide, and only having one friend to now having millions of raving fans and supporters in his corner worldwide.

On a related note, never discount the power of telling your own personal story of tragedy-to-triumph in your marketing message. This allows others to connect with you on a deeper level and ads a humanizing element that your core audience will be able to identify with.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the story of Casey Heynes. Leave a comment below after you take a few minutes and watch this inspirational video.

    Matthew,

I’m in contact with Casey’s mom – they are planning a trip here and would like to talk to folks about bullying and the effects it has on all involved – I just happened across your blog tonight.

When he get’s over here, he’s going to try to do some interviews as well.

If you would like to chat with him let me know and I’ll forward your contact info to his parents. I’m being a go between for distance sake at the moment.

    Great blog…

    Tracie

That’s great, Tracie! I definitely planned on interviewing Casey either on Skype or in person. His is a tremendous story of triumph and encouragement that my readers would find inspiring. I’ll forward you an email and we can work out the details. Thank you 🙂

Good on Casey for standing up and defending himself against that little turd!. I wish I had as much courage all those years ago to stand up to my bully – my cousin from the age of 6 to 12 day after day she was relentless and all because she is was jealous, I endured yeards of bullyng and teasing from her. Until I finally learned to stand on my own two feet and defend myself because no one was going to do it for me, nor did I expect them to.

That aside, some children can be plain awful and it has everything to do with parenting.

Bullies are trully pathetic excuses for human beings.
